ecospecifier Issues of Concern / Red Lights
Approximately 0.0082 g/hide, equates to 4.1g/yr, of chromium sent to landfill /incineration. This is extremely low. It is primarily held in sewage sludge as a relatively inactive, insoluble trivalent hydroxide. (See Chromium in Glossary) The company states that no waste chromium is returned to the source river after treatment - chromium is recycled from waste water resulting in more than 99% re-use of chromium- also resulting in a 15% reduction in chromium purchase.
