Product Description:

Sontext Serenity Decorative Acoustic Panels are designed to assist in reducing ambient noise levels and achieve specific acoustical requirements for an interior space. The panels are suitable for wall and ceiling applications and can be fixed directly to a wall or ceiling surface or installed as suspended baffles for ceiling applications.

The panels consist of an acoustic insulation infill, impact resistant acoustic membrane, contained within a MDF frame. The panel is finished with a decorative fabric facing. The panels can be specified in a range of fabrics, standard sizes, custom sizes and depths to meet project requirements.

Sontext use as standard, low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and low formaldehyde insulation and MDF components in Serenity Panels. Sontext also recommends and uses fabric suppliers with low VOC fabrics to complement low VOC of internal panel materials.

ecospecifier Issues of Concern / Red Lights 

Product utilises MDF. MDF Supplier and Serenity Panels manufacturer Sontext do not have CoC certification as a means to verify origin of timber source. Wood fibre is not Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. Based on an analysis of the various timber certification schemes available, ecospecifier credits FSC certification as the most rigorous and robust certification of a well managed forest.

Product contains polyester which is based on non-renewable fossil fuel petrochemical polymers. However, provided the product is fully recycled (after usable life) this investment in resources is partially off-set by reduced material use in the future.
