Range of low VOC, non-toxic transparent heat and glare control polyester window covering fabrics for use in residential and commercial internal blind applications.

Product Description:

Range of low VOC, sun control screen fabrics, solution dyed for use as internal window coverings, made from polyester. GreenScreen™ Vela and Vela Met fabrics are PVC-free. The products are also 100% recyclable, but are not currently recycled in Australia. Products have excellent fire resistant properties and are suitable for use on indoor roller blinds, skylight blinds and decorative panels.

Products effectively reduce heat and glare in internal spaces while maximising vision to the outside relative to their light transmission characteristics. Many of the options within this range have a visual light transmittance (VLT) of less than 10% and are therefore effective at reducing glare.

The fabrics can achieve significant reductions in the demand for air conditioning, reducing electricity consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions, particularly when used in conjunction with a closely sealed blind system. Actual performance will depend on the hardware configuration used. Vela Met has a metallised backing for increased glare control and reduced visible light transmittance.

No MSDS information for dye stuffs was provided by the manufacturer. However given products are solution dyed and dyes are locked into structure of the polyester filaments there is an unlikely risk of dyes causing sensitising impacts to human health or marine ecosystems, Therefore, Vela and Vela Met can be considered safe for usage as internal blinds.
