A range of very low VOC fabric for roller blinds woven from 100% polyester fabric, designed to reduce glare, heat and light from entering buildings. Suitable for interior residential and commercial window coverings.
Product Description:
Hunter Douglas’s polyester fabric collection are a range of very low volatile organic chemical (VOC), 100% woven polyester fabrics with varying shade opacities, from sheer, translucent, opaque to blockout.
These fabrics can effectively reduce heat and glare transmitted into internal spaces while still allowing outward vision. Three of the products within this range (Zincalum, Serene Blockout and Titanium) have a visual light transmittance (VLT) of less than 10%. The fabrics can achieve reduction in the demand for air conditioning, reducing electricity consumption and associated greenhouse gases, particularly when used in conjunction with a closely sealed blind system.
Platinum and Titanium fabrics are made from Trevira CS yarn, which holds special fire retardant properties. The polyester fabric range is suitable for roman blind, panel glide and roller blind applications internally in residential and commercial operations.

Ecospecifier Issues of Concern / Red Lights
Minor issue: polyester is based on fossil fuel petrochemical polymer, however provided the fabric is fully recycled this investment in resources can be off-set by reduced material use in the future.Products with recycled polyester content obviously have a significant reduction in embodied energy and environmental impact.
