Product Description:
CSR Hebel produce a range of innovative building materials made from AAC. These lightweight products are formed into blocks and panels for a wide range of both load-bearing and non load-bearing construction applications. Products are moulded, cut and steam pressure cured in an autoclave before being packed, ready for transport.
The most common of CSR- Hebel AAC products is PowerPanel™ a 75mm thick, steel mesh reinforced panel system, supplied in various lengths and profiles to suit wall and fence requirements. Other CSR Hebel panel and block products can be supplied in varying thicknesses up to 300mm (25mm increments).
CSR Hebel has developed products and systems suitable for various construction applications, including:
- New detached housing (Free standing homes)
- Alterations and additions (Renovations and extensions)
- Low rise multi-residential (Townhouses, villas, duplexes, senior living)

Products are certified by the Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) ecolabel under the 08-2005 – Innovative Products Standards. This certification found that Hebel products and systems have significantly reduced environment loads (by at least 30%) in comparison to brick veneer and concrete products for similar applications.

ecospecifier Issues of Concern / Red Lights
Minor OH&S Issue: The product contains crystalline silica. Crystalline silica exists in a variety of other common materials such as concrete, render, grout, tile, glass etc. This issue of concern relates to the cutting, grinding and other occupational production activities of products containing crystalline silica and is not an issue as installed in buildings.
The IARC classifies crystalline silica inhaled in the form of quartz, from occupational sources, as carcinogenic to humans (Group 1). However, the Australian body, ASCC/NOHSC (National Occupational Health and Safety Commission) have not classified crystalline silica as a carcinogen.
Precautions for workers such as appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adequate ventilation will mitigate the risk of potential issues noted, refer to MSDS, such that in accordance with and ecospecifier Risk Assessment no further comment is required.
