Product Description:

Within Briggs Veneers’ range of eco-cert™ timber veneers are a selection that are from FSC certified timber sources with chain of custody certification

The range is suitable for standard veneering of furniture, joinery, panelling, kitchens, bathrooms and other interior applications for residential and commercial use. Timber veneer is not suitable for areas of high wear, wet areas or exterior applications.

The raw timber veneers have been emission tested and found to be low in VOC and formaldehyde emissions (below E0 threshold). For minimal health and environmental impact, it is recommended that non-toxic, low VOC and formaldehyde substrates, glues and coatings are used to complement these health and environmentally preferrable raw veneers. Both FSC and GECA certified substrate boards (such as MDF and particleboard) are readily available in Australia (see E0 MDF listings).

Red Light Comment

Minor OH&S Issue: Wood dust is classified as carcinogenic (group 1) to humans by the IARC.  As the product is used in solid form it is not considered to be of risk in use.  This red light comment relates to OH&S, if machining, sawing, drilling, routing, laser cutting or sanding is to be done of the veneer sheet before it is joined to the substrate, or afterwards of the finished veneer panel there are effective precautions that can be taken to minimise dust level exposure resulting from such activities, such as personal protective equipment (PPE).
