About ecospecifier China
Welcome to ecospecifier China!
ecospecifier China's aim is to help building professionals including architects, designers, builders, facilities managers, sustainability consultants and other specifiers, to shortcut the eco and healthy materials sourcing process and make delivering innovative green buildings easier and more cost efficient.
Ecospecifier China is a predominantly English version at the moment- but with a new Gateway under development a full Mandarin bi-lingual site is planned for late 2010.
Its broader aim is to help reduce the impacts on natural systems and people by increasing the use of environmentally preferable and healthy products, materials and design processes and promoting net positive actions towards restorative sustainability.
Designers today need to be mindful of the upstream and downstream implications of decisions in an economic, legal and ecological sense to protect natural systems, health and social equity.
ecospecifier China assesses products against a range of green building tools, including:
- LEED®
- MOHURD 3 Star (once finalised)
As each tool is launched we will assess products against every tool relevant to the product and the China green construction market.
These tools drive the uptake of both green buildings and green products throughout the region.
Products Assessed into Availability Categories
As you search through the database you will see each product is also assessed against 5 availability categories for each country as follows:
- Cat. 1- Manufactured or assembled in China
- Cat. 2- Stock held & product represented in China
- Cat. 3- Product represented in China
- Cat. 4- Previous projects undertaken in China
- Cat. 5- Export ready to China
