US Report - The Costs and Benefits of Green Building
Building green is cost effective according to California's Sustainable Building Task Force, which recently released its detailed study of US buildings. This groundbreaking report found that a small up front investment of 0-2% can result in lifecycle savings of 20% of the total construction costs, resulting in savings more than ten times the inital investment.
Going into considerable detail on a range of key issues including productivity benefits and financial modelling, the report is considered the first comprehensive review of the impacts of the implementation of the LEED program in the US as well as being a test-bed for the broader business case for 'Green Building'.
