ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION

The Alternative Technology Association (ATA), is a not-for-profit organisation that has been promoting the use of renewable energy, water conservation and sustainable building since 1980. AUSTRALIAN SOLAR ENERGY SOCIETY

The Australian Solar Energy Society (AuSES) is dedicated to the promotion of solar and related R&D and the adoption of Solar Energy; compiling and disseminating information on solar and complementary technologies; education programs; and lobbying.  AuSES is a not for profit organisation tracing its history back to 1954.  Its primary membership consists of academia, solar related companies, research and development organisations, users, community groups and private citizens. 

AuSES  is an affiliate Section of ISES, the International Solar Energy Society. .

ARCHITEAM COOPERATIVE LTD

ArchiTeam Co-operative Ltd (AT) is a not-for-profit co-operative established in 1992 specifically to assist small architectural practices. All members hold a share in the co-operative and are entitled to vote and to stand for office as a director. 

Members are expected to actively participate in the activities of the co-operative.  AT offer a range of member services for architects and their practices.

The Australian Window Association is made up of over 450 window manufacturers and industry suppliers throughout Australia. Members of the association have products tested to Australian Standard AS2047. You can be confident that products are made to withstand Australian conditions when purchasing from an AWA member. Don't risk costly replacement of non compliant products that are not suited to Australian conditions.

The AWA also run the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS). WERS rates the energy performance of window products, with up to 40% of a home’s energy for cooling or heating being lost or gained through windows, improving their thermal performance reduces energy costs and Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.  The WERS website has over 60,000 custom rated window products to enable the right selection for your building in any climate zone.  www.wers.net

The Building Designers Association of Australia is the peak coordinating body for Building Designers Associations in Australia.  The Association is recognised as a proactive leader on issues affecting the built environment and the building industry.
Building Designers Associations across Australia have more than 2000 members.

Estimates indicate that Building Designers prepare about 80% of all documentation submitted to Councils for Building Approval. On average, each member designs and documents building work to the value of about $7 million every year. BUILDING DESIGNERS ASSOCIATION OF NSW

The Building Designers Association (BDANSW) of NSW is a dynamic organisation whose members have proven technical and design competencies. They design residential, multi-residential, commercial and industrial buildings providing clients with the expertise in design and documentation to meet all the stringent requirements of local government building approval.

BDA of NSW has long held the view that a commitment to ESD is an integral part of their role as designers and creators of the built environment, members are bound by a Code of Ethics and encouraged to operate at the highest professional level at all times.

BUILDING DESIGNERS ASSOCIATION OF QUEENSLAND

The Building Designers' Association of Qld Inc (BDAQ) represents an active group of building designers who are keen to uphold their responsibilities to the consumer and to the profession, promoting the dignity and reputation of the profession with perseverance, tact and impartiality whilst attaining the highest standards for the
community.

BUILDING DESIGNERS ASSOCIATION OF VICTORIA

The Building Designers Association of Victoria is the peak industry body representing more than 1,200 building design professionals in Victoria. The BDAV a not-for-profit organisation, managed by a committee of volunteers from amongst the membership, whose objective is to offer cost-effective, quality, membership services and benefits to meet the needs of its membership.

BDAV members are in high demand, and are involved in a diverse range of projects, including the design of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and all other types of buildings.  In Victoria, building designers are responsible for the design of more than 80% of residential developments, including units, apartments, and project homes.

DesignBUILD Commercial, 3 – 5 November 2010, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre

GreenPainters

GreenPainters™  is Australia's national sustainable painting initiative. It is a non-profit program providing training,  advice, and skills to promote the latest environmentally preferable coatings technology. It represents painting contractors and manufacturers who are leaders in painting environmental management.

GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY ECOCENTRE

The Griffith University EcoCentre is nestled within the Toohey Forest on the Nathan campus of the university. Visitors to the EcoCentre enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the forest with access to state of the art teaching, exhibition and conference facilities.

The construction and operation of the EcoCentre follow strict 'eco-design' principles, and feature solar energy, ambient ventilation and lighting, rammed earth walls for temperature regulation, rainwater collection for 'greywater' use, and wet composting toilets. All reflect domestic scale environmental technologies that can be used in the family home.

KEEP AUSTRALIA BEAUTIFUL QUEENSLAND

Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland was established in 1971 as an independent, not-for-profit organisation. We are Queensland's longest standing community-based, environmental organisation. Keep Australia Beautiful's programs motivate people to enhance the quality of their local environment through personal initiative and community action.

Through interaction with local governments, businesses, schools, community groups and committed individuals, Keep Australia Beautiful encourages a statewide network of grassroots volunteers who work to deliver a cleaner, greener environment. 

The Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute (KBDi) is a national organisation with local chapters located around Australia, providing kitchen designers and bathroom designers with Accreditation, (CKD Au, CBD Au), Training and Professional Development, and networking opportunities for members. KBDi membership is open to all those with an interest in kitchen design and bathroom design from students to the highly experienced.
