How products are considered

The process for any product seeking listing on ecospecifier is:

• Completion of the ecospecifier life-cycle based ecospecifier questionnaire
• Assessment by the ecospecifier team as to whether the product complies with the ‘best practice towards sustainability’ criteria
• Listing on ecospecifier after verification and factual error checking by the relevant supplier/manufacturer/service provider.

As noted under The Business Model and Standards recognition & assessment types, ecospecifier does not charge for a 'Basic' listing on the site. Basic listings continue to be listed based on information sourced by ecospecifier. In 2005 ecospecifier introduced flat-fee per product options to allow different levels of research to be presented and allow more content in the public domain:

The depth of the listing is recognised in the name of the product in the Product Search Results page by the display of [BLP], [EC], [EC-Premium], [ECG] or [ECG-Premium] after the product name*. If there is no such extension, then it is a Basic listing.

* Historically there have been a variety of listings on ecospecifier.org. All new enhanced listings from August 2008 are either EC-Premium or ECG-Premium listings.
